Hi Parents,

School is off to a great start.  We have been working really hard on our routines and understanding of what is expected in the fourth grade.  Please remember to make sure your child is studying for the spelling, vocabulary and Greek Roots quizzes on Friday.  It is a good idea to practice them each night, so it is not so hard on Friday.  Here are some dates coming up.  Please mark your calendar.

Salt Map making day — Sept 16.  I will be sending out a volunteer list this week.

Conference week – Sept 20-24- Sign-ups will also be coming out this week.   Please remember the conferences are only 15 minutes and it would be great for your child to attend.  These are goal setting conferences.

Red Ribbon Week –  October 4-8

October break – October 18- 29

Thank you again for all your support in the classroom and at home.  You will be hearing from me soon.

WELCOME TO THE FOURTH GRADE

August 14, 2010

Dear Fourth Graders and parents,

Welcome to the fourth grade!  My name is Mrs. Wright and I will be your teacher in the 2010/2011 school year.  I am looking forward to meeting you on Monday and start our incredible year together.  I hope you have had a magnificent summer and are ready for many new and exciting experiences.

The fourth grade team has worked hard to prepare an educational and fun-filled fourth grade year for you packed with interesting curriculum, extraordinary field trips and amazing learning adventures.  So, put on your thinking caps and get ready to learn, discover and have the time of your life.

Our district has provided a supply list appropriate for 4th grade on our website.  (Note, this is a donation list.)  Please take a look at the list and have your supplies by Monday, August 16th, if possible.  Please refrain from  large pencil boxes.  A pencil pouch is much easier to carry around.  It will be extremely helpful and greatly appreciated.

Here are few other things that may help for a smooth transition to fourth grade: and a great new school year.

  • 1 “Old Fashioned” 2 inch, 3 ring- notebook
  • 1 set of 5- Tab Index Dividers
  • 2 black/white composition books
  • 1 Clear Zipper Pencil Pouch for Binder
  • 1 Package of spiral notebooks
  • 1 Wood Ruler – Standard and Metric
  • A pop top water bottle
  • 1 set of thin dark-colored dry erase markers
  • A clean sock to be used as an eraser
  • Hand wipes

I look forward to seeing you on Monday, August 16th at 8:00 AM!!

Your teacher,

Mrs. Wright
